My name is John Porro, an unapologetic Christian conservative, who is running to represent you as the next congressman in Congressional District 3. My platform is a Pro-America, Pro-Life, Pro-Freedom, and Pro-Family and I believe I am uniquely qualified to serve you in Congress.

 

SERVING DURING 9/11

On that day, September 11, I had just finished an overnight shift in a hospital in Queens, NY when I learned of the events that took place at the World Trade Center. Along with other Trauma centers, we began preparing for the survivors and I reported to my hospital.

 

9/11 was the worst day of my life until 9/12. As a Captain of a Volunteer Rescue Squad, I joined my fellow brothers in arms in the effort to search for survivors through the rubble of Tower 2 at Ground Zero. We were bound to honor our promise to the husbands and wives, the sons and daughters of the brave men and women of the FDNY who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty - I knew we had a mission. Then on September 14th, I returned to hear President Bush give his bullhorn speech inspiring those of us there as well as Americans across the country. Those days that are ingrained into my memory forever.

 

SERVING MY COMMUNITY

Years later, I would be recruited to move to Texas to use my medical training as a physician assistant, to manage both PA’s and Nurse Practitioners for a large safety net hospital in the Dallas Metroplex. As a Director, I lead a staff of nearly 400 people and oversee a nearly $45M budget while reporting directly to both the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nursing Officer.

 

Since becoming a Texan, I met my current wife, Kamie, and we now call Farmersville our home. 9/11 shaped my life forever but our nation’s tilt to becoming a socialist nation is why I have made the decision to run for Congress. Coming from a family of first responders, I have always valued service, which is why I always dedicated my life to helping my community.

 

SERVING IN CONGRESS

After discussing this with my wife, and spending many nights in prayer, we considered how I could next serve. I've decided I cannot sit on the sidelines, so I am running for Congress. We have a failed President, who let down every man and woman who fought for freedom in the post 9/11 era by letting the Taliban acquire billions of dollars’ worth of American military equipment. The exit from Afghanistan, leaving Americans and our allies behind, was worse than the fall of Saigon. He is destroying American sovereignty by having a border open that allows illegal aliens, terrorists, and drug dealers to cross in each day. We have a Congress that has failed to remember that every dollar they spend is one less dollar you have in your budget making it more difficult to buy necessities. As Ronald Reagan famously said in his 1981 inaugural speech, government is not the solution, government is the problem. Under Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Bernie Sanders, and others - we are becoming the socialist country that my family fought against in Korea and Vietnam. We are becoming more like China, and less like the Judeo-Christian country our founding fathers created.

 

My promise to you is that I will always fight to be a Pro-Family, Pro-Life, Pro-America, and Pro-Freedom representative because not only are they the principles I believe in, but they are also the principles of this community.
